Everything You Need to Know About IV Therapy in Miami
Whether you’re considering your first IV drip or you’re a regular client, we’ve compiled the most common questions we hear from clients across Miami Beach, Brickell, South Beach, Wynwood, and all of South Florida.
General Questions
What is IV therapy?
IV (intravenous) therapy delivers fluids, vitamins, minerals, and other nutrients directly into your bloodstream through a small IV catheter. Because it bypasses the digestive system, your body absorbs 100% of the nutrients immediately — compared to 20-50% absorption from oral supplements.
How does mobile IV therapy work?
You book online or call (786) 305-3555. A licensed registered nurse arrives at your location — hotel, home, office, yacht, Airbnb, or event venue — with all necessary supplies. After a quick health screening, the IV takes 30-60 minutes depending on the treatment.
How long does an IV drip take?
Most standard IV drips take 30-45 minutes. NAD+ therapy takes longer — 1 to 4 hours depending on the dose (250mg, 500mg, or 1000mg). Your nurse will give you an accurate time estimate before starting.
How quickly will I feel the effects?
Most clients notice improvement during the treatment or within an hour of completion. Hangover recovery clients often feel dramatically better before the bag is even empty. Effects from vitamin and wellness drips typically last 5-7 days.
How often should I get IV therapy?
It depends on your goals. For general wellness, monthly sessions work well (that’s why we offer membership plans). Athletes and high-performance professionals often book bi-weekly. For acute needs like hangover recovery, book as needed.
Safety & Medical Questions
Is IV therapy safe?
Yes, when administered by qualified medical professionals. All Thirst IV Society treatments are performed by licensed registered nurses (RNs) following physician-supervised protocols. We use only pharmaceutical-grade ingredients and sterile, single-use equipment.
Who administers the IV?
Licensed registered nurses (RNs) with IV therapy training and experience. Every nurse on our team is background-checked, fully insured, and trained in our specific treatment protocols.
Are you licensed and insured?
Yes. Thirst IV Society is a Florida-licensed mobile health service. We carry full liability insurance and follow HIPAA-compliant privacy practices.
Are there any side effects?
Side effects are rare and typically minor — slight bruising at the IV site, mild coolness during infusion, or temporary flushing with NAD+ treatments. Your nurse monitors you throughout and can adjust the drip rate for comfort.
Who should NOT get IV therapy?
Our pre-treatment health screening identifies contraindications. Generally, IV therapy may not be appropriate for people with certain heart conditions, kidney disease, or those on specific medications. Your nurse will review your health history before any treatment.
Do I need a prescription?
No prescription is needed for our vitamin and hydration drips. All treatments are available under physician-supervised standing orders.
